1000 engine in a 650 for sale....

Look at what is up for sale the infamous 6/10 conversion bike. We have been looking at pics of this for some time and now its up for sale.

It was for sale a while back on ebay. I see the seller mentions this in his add.

Someone has changed the swingarm and exhaust since we first saw it years ago:

if anyone has real good instructions on how to pull this swap off, i would really like to know what i need to do first before trial and error.
i have a sh#tload of 650/750 parts and bikes at my disposal.
i also have quite a few 900 or 1000 motors around.

Mostly just a matter of making motor mounts to drop the motor lower in the frame to clear the tank, plus the usual swap hassles.

Frame bracing is recommended

Hey Steve. I was researching this swap last winter and it would be one cool little sleeper if the 1000 motor was a tweaked stump puller like the GPz1100. The biggest hassle I suspect would be checking the valve clearances each year as you would not be able to pull off the valve cover without removing the motor from the frame. Of course, you would have to leave the 650 badges on the side covers just to throw everyone off. As Steell said, the frame would have to be seriously gusseted to prevent twisting the thing apart:-)

1977 Kz 650 Custom - 810 big-bore, Wired George prepped Mikuni 29 Smoothbores, Gpz 750 cams, intake valves inside a milled, ported and polished 650 head. Dyna, MAC and other goodies.
