I know some will howl at the fitting of a non kawa engine but for me it was well worth the hassle.Performance is transformed.I wish I had built it sooner.Only down side is the bikers here always ask me if it is a H#nda!!!!!

After 10years with my z900 I fitted a fj1200 yam engine mainly due to the cost of a full engine rebuild being way too much.I got the engine complete for the cost of a set of kawa piston rings!
That's the thing that caused me to look at different options for my 550 . Rebuilding what I had would be far more than the $650 I paid for a complete , but crashed , '99 Katana 750 , and finding a low mileage engine for a 25 yr old bike is near impossible .
You can get around the big GSXR oil radiatior issue by using the Bandit cooler .
Ian , real nice bike . Do you have any links to KZ/GSXR hybrid photos ? I've done several searches to no avail . Also , what is the bike in your avatar ? Can't see it real well , could you post that pic ?
