KZs with unique motor swaps.

I'm a big fan of the KZ, I currently own two of them. I wanted to know if there are any hardcore KZ owners out there with a KZ motorcycle with a unique motor swaps? I found an ZL Eliminator on youtube with a ZRX motor. I also found a few ZRXs with GSXR1000 motors (Kawabusa). Does anyone know of a KZ with an unique motor?

I remember seeing a thread recently of a mini bike (expect a lawn mower engine) with a Kaw four cylinder crammed in it.

I have seen a gsxr suzuki motors used in zed chasis with modern running gear in streetfighters magazine, they are mainly in europe. Seems like a simple conversion as the more modern motors are much smaller dimensionally than the zeds.

I'm in the early stages of building a KZ/GPz550 with a Katana750 motor . This weekend I hope to get some time to do some work on it . I hate to put a different brand of motor in it , but the Suzuki motor will look like an air-cooled motor and make almost twice as much power as stock . The critical exterior dimension are very close .

After 10years with my z900 I fitted a fj1200 yam engine mainly due to the cost of a full engine rebuild being way too much.I got the engine complete for the cost of a set of kawa piston rings!The engine fits with a few mods nothing too major.There are 3 others I know of in Holland but mine is the most standard looking.The others are more streetfighter style.I've seen lots more with gsxr engines but to me it looks too small with a big gap at the rear of the frame cradle and you have to fit an ugly cooler.
I know some will howl at the fitting of a non kawa engine but for me it was well worth the hassle.Performance is transformed.I wish I had built it sooner.Only down side is the bikers here always ask me if it is a H#nda!!!!!

That's the thing that caused me to look at different options for my 550 . Rebuilding what I had would be far more than the $650 I paid for a complete , but crashed , '99 Katana 750 , and finding a low mileage engine for a 25 yr old bike is near impossible .
You can get around the big GSXR oil radiatior issue by using the Bandit cooler .

Ian , real nice bike . Do you have any links to KZ/GSXR hybrid photos ? I've done several searches to no avail . Also , what is the bike in your avatar ? Can't see it real well , could you post that pic ?
