I just won an auction for a complete dual disc brake set up. I was going to upgrade my single front disc. In the auction the seller had the complete front end and front wheel. I had asked before bidding if I won if he could ship me just the complete brake system without the forks and wheel. I was trying to save on shipping and really didn't need those parts anyway. He was fine with that. The auction ended and I got it all for $55.00 shipped which was good. I recieved the parts today and look what I found. The seller actually CUT the rotor holders from the wheel instead of unbolting!!! The holders are riveted to the rotor. I am guessing you coud cut the rivet heads off to remove the holders? I could reuse the holder from the single disc I have on now but still need one. I wanted to use both of the new rotor because they are drilled and my old one isn't. First off does anyone have a 4 bolt rotor or just the holder they want to get rid of? Also can these be bolted back together or do they have to be riveted?

I have bought parts and the idiot did things like this. I absolutely don't understand why someone can't take the time to unbolt something instead of unbolting it. Just a couple minutes time. Just another thing you have to watch out for. Personally, I wouldn't even mess with those. Wait and buy another pair that are intact. I have no idea what would be involved to pop out those rivets and fix them but either way, you need another set of rotors, so you might as well just get another complete set and be done with it. I would also, most definitely leave bad feedback and be sure to say why.I see rotors on E-Bay all the time so just look for another set. You'll be ahead of the game and save yourself a ton of work.

That leaves me as close to speechless as I get.

Folks, if anyone needs evidence that we have reached the rock bottom of stupidity and started blasting. this is it.

That is unreal and impressive in its stupidity. It would be worth it to meet the idiot in person and have him leave wearing it as a necklace.

Amazing...

Everytime I see someone that has really butchered a motorcycle I say that there should be an IQ test required before you are allowed to buy tools. After seeing this fiasco I now see that in this case even that wouldn't have helped.

Let's just say this guy isn't gonna have to worry about being asked to bring the potato salad to the next mensa picnic.

You may as well try to teach a salamander algebra! Maybe he's an evil little wart and knows full well what he did. That kind of stupidity is just unfathomable. He has to know better. How can he know how to walk and not know better than that! WOW!

I am constantly amazed by how stupid some people actually are :S

You could cut off the rivets on that one and on another to get the carrier, then rivet that disc on a new carrier using the proper rivets, but that's a lot of work when those discs are not scarce (yet).

I'd want my money back though.
