'82 KZ750 Vs. '08 Ninja 250

A friend of mine just picked up an '08 Ninja 250. Does anyone have any 0-60 mph or 1/4-mile numbers for this bike? Can I take him with my KZ750 (Dynojet kit and V&H exhaust)?

ya probably. Drove one for my motorcycle safety course. Fun little bike I guess, but not much for power. Very comparable to my old 1980 xs400 for power. That ninja was a 2005 though, I know they changed styling this year but not sure if they did any modifications motor wise.

1/4mi = 14.6 @ 88mph
0-60 = 5.75sec.

When I was 17 I dragraced a stock '78 Kz650 and did horrible on it but ran low 15s. So pretty much guarantee that a piped and jetted 750 will mop it up even with a lousy rider.

Cycle Guide mag said an '80 KZ750-4 was good for 12.50 sec., 107.8 mph

Pesonally, I doubt it was really that quick and fast unless the rider was under a hunnerd pounds, but I've been wrong before and I might be wrong again. Anyway, I'd bet up to a buck that the Ninjette loses.

I just found the numbers for the Ninja 500 and if I raced the 500, it would be very close. Does anyone here run a pipped and jetted KZ750 at the track?

a ninja 250 is an underpowered turd that can barely get out of it's own way. sorry, just my biased opinion. the thing can barely even handle freeway cruising. yes your 750 is faster!!!

At the same time is'nt it scary to see what a modern 250 can do. I mean, even to have the thought that what was once the fastest 750 on the road just might not beat a modern 250.
