I wish this were closer

Well I just checked it this morning, $810.00 bid with three and a half days to go. I guess the ether has worn off. Anyone here want to make a guess what it ends at?

I agree Gringo. I see so many dirty, ratty parts on ebay and think that about 1/2 hour of cleaning, paint, steel wool, etc could make the part very attractive and IMO possibly double the price! For example, this fender would probably look 10 times better (and sell for more) if owner just cleaned it and made it shine!

Man, that machine sure looks familiar. Here's what my bike looked like when I first hauled it home. A bit more ratty for sure, but so similar:


I think the same things re: crappy-looking non-clean KZ parts on eBay. Have a lot of experience in this area as I basically [ahem] built my bike via eBay. In fact I was all ready to jump in, buy some beaters and start parting out machines myself. Until the wife heard about it... :whistle:

Very deserving BOTM. I'm impressed, you either have great vision or you are really stubborn.

There are alot of bikes out there that would bring more on ebay if they were parted out, and like you I've thought about doing that, but I guess I just don't have the heart for it. I convince myself they are all worth saving. Which is why my house has been overrun with old KZ's. Shoot, picture of your bike was too big. From that pile of .....stuff to this.

Contacted owner a couple of days ago, and he said he removed the BIN option because someone contacted him and told him that he has way underestimated the value of his bike. I quit bidding after my bid of $750 was beat. Damn, woulda been a nice bike

Jordan, I'm sorry to hear that man. The person that contacted the owner should be strung up by his b@lls and flogged with a broken clutch cable. Even though the bike was priced under the money unless you are a buyer stay out of the mix. We as ebay shoppers have to sort through so much crap anymore, when we do find a good deal we should be able to take advantage of it. And yes that would have made the basis for a nice project for you.

This ended up selling for $810.00, I'm sort of surprised, I figured it was going to go higher.
