The guy just may not know these bikes, it has obviously been repainted? According to the Z650 site the quote is "It was offered in three colors, candy super red, candy emerald green and candy emerald blue". Is that candy emerald blue? I don't see any striping at all but still think it would be a great bike if price stays reasonable!

So... he's suggesting that it is original. I guess I'll have to decide how baddly I want it. Thanks, John.

I think this guy is playing dumb.....like a fox. Everyone here should know that is not the correct original paint. The 77 KZ650 B-1's came in two colors green or red. Also in looking at that bike the switches are not correct either, in 77 Kaw ran the wiring from the switches inside the handlebars and in the pics this bike has the wiring run outside the bars. It also appears to have a switch on the left side for 4 way flashers which did not come on the 77 B models. It is also missing the passenger grab rail on the right side as well as the intake boots. It doesn't look like a bad bike but in my opinion it has already reached what it is worth, maybe a little more being that it is a non original, non runner.

This bike may have been in a collision with the repaint, missing grab rail, and handlebar swap. Looking at the picture of the front of the bike, it looks like the front left turn signal (and maybe the right one) has been bent down, so the fork ear may also be damaged. I suspect the buyer isn't going to be very pleased if he believes the seller's story about the bike being all original. The seller really is stretching his credibility with the story about “paint fade.” When is the last time anyone saw red or green turn silver and the stripes totally disappear from fading?

Yeah, maybe I'm a cheapskate or just didn't want it that bad. It's already passed what I was willing to spend to get it. And thanks, guys! Your comments and good eyes made it much easier to let it go. I'll sleep just fine tonight!:)

The bike is not that far from me, but I would have to agree, there is something in the wood pile there, too many things dont look right, looks more like a barn find that got built in the barn

$850 this AM... too much for a 650 barny. Low miles and too many mods? Doesn't add... stay away I think. I was watching as it is right around the corner from me but I wouldn't do over $300 for that type bike.

NO Way does that barny have paint fade. The pic he has of the tank/bars/and speedo shows a nice polish on the re-paint. Probably should have taken the ding out before the paint though:pinch:

Go for it Dave. It is closer to you than it is to me and besides I'm past the point of running out of storage space. I still haven't picked up the last 2 650's I bought.

Of any of the 650's posted in this thread that one would be the one to own. It is suffering from a bit of period correct molestation due to the sissybar and the apehanger bars but other than that it looks to be pretty nice. The seat has been redone and getting it back to original would involve new cables and hoses since those handlebars would have required extended ones. The paint is original and looks to be in nice shape and the bike is one of the earlier production units.

That first Barny brought way too much money IMHO, I'd have to agree with George, I couldn't see myself paying more than about $300 for it. On the plus side it is good to see there is demand out there for these old relics.
