The CVMG National Rally is coming up in June and for those that don't know it's no longer in Paris.
Now I have to learn a slightly different route to ride there!
I am signed up for the early Friday entry (camping) and the dinner on Saturday.

I'm looking forward to the swap meet on the Saturday.
If you're coming from London area on Hwy 2 then just west of Woodstock and the 401 get on road 53. One of the few in the area that is not straight . I.e it has a few bends . I take it often.

I am going to see if I could attend this event in Canada, sounds like fun. I've been planning to ride my Ninja to Toronto this summer to photograph the city skyline at night. Maybe I could kill two birds with one stone.

Re: KZR Ontario Chapter
10 May 2026 18:28 - 10 May 2026 18:31I live in the very North end of London so my usual route to Paris was North of Hwy 2 thru Innerkip and Drumbo on #29. I avoid 400 series highways as there is nothing to see and worse if you have a mechanical.
My new route looks pretty similar thru Innerkip then South on #22 over to #53 as suggested. It ends up being 2 km more than going to Paris, just veering way more South.
Burford is a lot smaller than Paris, one stop light! I think its going to be a zoo getting in there on those residential side streets on the Friday morning.

The only good thing about this new location so far is that the LCBO is about a 3 minute walk from the venue.

I am trying to get my sleeper 1200 ready to ride there but its been a bit of a issue getting the time to work on it so far this Spring. I have been working on it the last few days and there have already been issues.
If that falls thru I have my 750 touring bike as a backup as I know that can make the trip. It has its own issues, but I have ridden it there the past two years even with a slight oil leak.
It should be interesting to see what goes down at the new venue.
They were suppose to email a schedule and procedure to line up to get in early on the Friday morning. So far the email had not shown up.
They don't have a large off the road type parking area so I believe the plan is to have the larger vendors who show up Thursday to be in the grounds already by Friday.
From what I can see people arriving Friday morning will be lined up on the residential street. This is a one stoplight town with a population of about 1000 people (seems optimistic)
There can easily be 800 or more people there on the Saturday if the weather is good, that does not include vendors or people camping for the weekend (200?) No idea where they are going to park!
So the bikers are going to double the towns population for the weekend. The old venue was in a much bigger town with a lot more stop lights, pubs, restaurants, hotels, etc. There seems to be only 1 B&B in the village.
That rally was in that same spot for 35 years but I have only been going for 16 years.

I am thinking I pull out the 750 from storage today, don't want to rush the other bike into service.
The 1200 is going to suck more gas anyways
it has a road race engine that’s only been started a few times. I know the 750 gets over 34 MPG and with the gas prices the way they are that helps.

Check traffic on Google maps before you leave. I rode out by Innerkip yesterday and the road at the far end of the village is closed until June 26

Looks like I will be bypassing Innerkip and taking #4 South sliding onto #2 at Bond's Corners then onto #53 towards Burford.

I pulled out my 750 yesterday to get it ready for the trip.
Not sure where I will be setup, but I am camping so I will be parked in the grounds somewhere.
A light blue KZ650 with Vetter fairing and bags is pretty easy to spot
