I'm sort of surprized it didn't bring more as well. They only made 3200 to begin with and don't forget the basic engine is a mark II engine which seems to be sought after and a 27 year old new in the crate bike of any kind is a rare find. Also when you compare it to what you will spend on a run of the mill Hardly $8600.00 seems like a bargain.

I heard a rumor of a nearby dealer that supposedly has warehouses full of new bikes and such that never sold. The rumor claims that he probably has forgotten about them, but, from what I know of the guy, if anyone expressed an interest, he'd want top dollar. :pinch:

Ok guys now this is freakin scary, are you ready for this? The buyer is a chopper shop that deals in Hardlys. Do you think maybe he figured out that for less than the cost of chroming a Harley he can buy a real motorcycle that comes with chrome from the factory?

The seller probably just made a couple 100 bucks on this one. The original owner (not the seller) also had a crated T140 Triumph, and a stored 20K 1973 Z1 (very nice all original). He was a former Kawa dealer in Bartlesville, OK. I looked at all three last March and .....the 73 was priced below both of the crated bikes. Can you guess which one I snapped up!
hell'va deal... Mike
