Sure thing apeman, and we'll make a point to ride through The Castro District, just for Rick.

Hey, and Apeman too! Sweet!

If all goes well, we will be picking up our bikes on Nov. 30th and returning them on Dec 3. That gives us a whole Saturday and Sunday to tour while our friends up here in eastern Canada chill their niblets...

I haven't looked at B.A.R.F. yet, Corey. I'm not even making it KZRider every day lately :-(

I'm open to just about any ride, although I keep hearing Highway 1 is the place to go. Or the Castro district - I mean, not the Castro district (not that there's anything wrong with that!)

Those dates sound like I will be able to go for a ride with you while you are here. I agree with Corey that going across the Golden Gate Bridge into the Marin Headlands for the view is a necessary stop for any SF tourist. It is an easy jaunt from there to reach Route 1 headed North, which can be exciting riding. Alternatively, if we cross the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge, we get over near my home area. The Berkeley and Oakland hills are great, and attract lots of riders on the weekends. I live within a mile of Grizzly Peak Boulevard and Skyline Boulevard, which are both know for their scenic twisties. (Think about views across the Bay as you round each turn.) There is also the Sonoma and Napa wine country, if you have the time to get up there for some riding (but watch out for the weekend cagers who have been hitting each winery tasting since 10:00 AM). Actually, that is best visited on a weekday, if you have the time off.

The weather at this time of the year can be troublesome (rainy/misty), or it can be bright sunshine. You just never know until you get here.

At this point I can ride. Let's keep an eye on the weather for those dates. I'm ready for a ride with KZR Members.

Weather for San Francisco any weekend can change like apeman said. No rain is good for me.

Who is wanting to ride, and what are we riding with? Me? I'm riding my heavily Modified '85 GPz550.

Let me know the dates of the ride, and I should be able to get them off. Sundays are always better for me.

Corey and DrWizzBang,

I just sent each of you a PM, giving my contact info. The weather today is cool, but relatively clear. If that holds out we should have decent riding weather this weekend.

I am looking forward to this. Is there anyone else in the area looking to join in?

I can't attend this gathering/ride. Assistant Manager just left on pregnancy leave(2 weeks early), and I have to cover her Sunday. CRAP!!!

Talked to Apeman, and we will be going for a ride in the near future. He promised pictures of this gala event.

Have fun guys!!!

Yes, it will be worth it.

I am posting a few pictures. I believe DrWizBang will post a few as well.

The first is where we met up -- at Peet's Coffee in Buringame (about 10 miles south of SF). DrWizBang (Joey) is in the leather jacket. His buddy Mark is in red. They rented Sportsters, and I rode my daily rider 1980 KZ750 LTD.

Next we headed for San Francisco. First stop was Twin Peaks, where Mark and Joey posed in front of the first of many great views. (I am leaving out the part where Joey ran out of gas.)

I took them around SF and showed them the sites (the Castro Theater included -- nobody changed their sexual orientation during the ride, for those that are uptight about such things).

Ofcourse, no ride through SF is complete without riding down "the crookedest street", Lombard Street:
