Questions for guys in SF Bay Area

- I need parts for my 650 project, so I would like to drop into a motorcycle salvage yard looking for stuff like rearsets, etc. Is there somewhere nearby you can suggest? I can buy stuff off from ebay and bring it home with me (save that killer cost shipping to Canada!) but if there is sonewhere I can actually have a look-see I would like that.
- One of my traveling companions and I are planning to stay a couple of extra days, rent a couple of motorcycles, and see some countryside. I have googled for rentals in SF, but the places I found mostly rent Harleys. I can ride one if I have to, but I prefer a cooler ride Any ideas?
- Anybody want to play tour guide and show us the good places to ride?
Thanks.

This one in Mountain View gives you the choice of HD or Goldwing. :S

This location in Monterey has Triumphs and Yamahas, and is closer to some good riding routes:

And finally, these guys have a lot more non-HD options to choose from:

Let me know your plan, type of riding you want to do, and I'll make the time. I'm not going anywhere for Thanksgiving.

The BMWs are the only thing close to "sporty" that Eagle Rider offers, and they are twice the price of a Sportster

In the meantime, check out this site for what it looks like here around the city. It's live camera.

With weather like this outside now, what the hell am I doing inside on the computer?

It's OK if you don't have Kawasaki. I won't hate!

Also, riding a big, heavy, underpowered bike might keep me from doing things I would later regret

Don't know my schedule yet, but let me know yours, and I'll make a request fot a day off. Any excuse to get my GPz550 out on the roads is a good day to request off.

You guys are so nice. Just remember to visit the Castro district Err, I mean stay away from it
That's the second time you've mentioned that area. Is there something you want to share with the rest of us here Rick?
There's a big cargo ship in the bay that's leaking oil. Maybe it will still be here by then. :S

Corey, I have been tied up with too much work, so I haven't had time to do much recreational riding. I just finished a couple of trials, and now I am trying to catch up with my other work. Let's make a point of getting together before the holidays for a ride.
