Don't know how it is in other states, but in CA, it's a PITA to fill up a motorcycle tank.
That fancy bellows gizmo has to be pulled up on the nozzle, and the fuel delivery rate can't hardly be adjusted at the trigger.
I've got a small tank, so I really need to top off at the pump. But it's impossible not to spill or splash the gas when it gets near full.
I always use one of their paper towels to try to keep gas from dripping on the tank; I figure I'm successful about half the time.
That's my rant for the week.... thanks for listening.

I saw something....somewhere on the web where the had a little yellow plastic collar that went over the end of the hose that pushed the fancy bellowed gizmo up and and allowed you to top of with no spills.
But I'll be damned if I can find it now!

Always make sure you point it towards the ground and shake it first, have had gas come out from someone who overflowed tank then hung it up!

Big Al puts on a convincing commercial. $20 each. If that thing can keep gas off my tank, I think it's worth it.
I'll order one, and let you all know if it really works.
Thanks for the link!

Nicely put on commercial, the only flaw is that the little hole in the end of the nozzle is the air trigger that shuts the nozzle off, it has nothing to do with the vapor recovery system. But, like he said be sure the nozzle sticks out past the mccuff or the nozzle won't shut off like it is supposed to.
Interesting product though.

Wehave those too, over in Missouri.
But I had one a few weeks ago that really pissed me off. The little steel flap trigger lock thingy had a broken spring and I didn't know it, so when I let go of the trigger when the tank was full, the little steel thingy locked the nozzle on. Squirted gas all over my bike trying to turn it off. It has good PPG paint on it, but it sure made me a little nervous about firing it up.

Oregon doesn't let you pump your own gas. When the wife found out about that, she wanted to move there. Ha! But is the Oregon law the same for cycles?

we have those here, they suck big time, I will avoid the stations that have them unless I am dead out.
pulling up on it isnt much better since you have to still try to see how much gas you have put in

Yeah, I've run across those type of nozzles here in southern nevada. I ususally do the two handed method; one hand on the trigger, the other pulling and holding the boot back. It can get tricky, and always leaves my gloves smelling like fuel.

I got one for my B-Day last month.

So far it's working out. It does work and helps me fill up a lot faster and one handed.

Yes, you are right, the instructions do say to have the nozzle hole sticking out 1 inch past the device, then it only clicks once (instead of a million times) and your are topped off.

Hey, I need to protect my original powder blue paint! Remember that anyone!
