Mid-Ohio Vintage Days July 27-29 2007

Sunday most vendors are packing up around noon or 1. You can find some good deals from the guys who don't want to haul the bike home. Most of what is left is either very expensive or junk. If it was a good deal then someone would have snagged it already. You just never know though. The place is huge and some bikes might fall thru the cracks. Check it out anyway.

This trip is not starting too good. I have my truck packed and ready so i went to Dubs and picked my bike and a trailer. I stoped by the car wash to wash the bike. I stopped by the local bike shop to visit. On the way home i checked my rear view mirror and smoke was billowing out of the bed of my truck. I thought i blew a transmission line. WRONG! A fire had started in the bed of my pickup. I started tossing things out. Bacically my $300.00 canopy made a nice fire in the middle of the road.
I have burns on two fingers of my left hand and the right fore arm. And it is not even MONDAY!
While i was tossing parts out i saw a bic lighter between two boxes the were burning. Who knows.

Same thing happened to me a few months ago. I had a large cardboard box in the bed of my truck. I also had a bottle of BBQ fluid and some starter logs from a bonfire the night before. I stopped at Walmart for a few things. When I got back in the truck and drove away I saw smoke coming from the bed. I turned to look and saw some flames. Luckily there was a car wash right there. By the time I got the truck stopped the bottle of fluid has burst and spread all over the bed. I tried to pull the cardboard out but it was just falling apart. I finally got the car wash to accept my dollar bill and put the fire out. By this time the flames were rolling up over the cab of the truck. I burned my fingers pretty bad, not useable for a few weeks. By bed liner was toast... literally. I got a new bed liner, for free, from the local Line X shop. They take them out of trucks that are getting a spray in liner then they just throw them behind the shop... come and get em. I assume that someone threw a cigerette into the back of truck before they went into Walmart. I find trash in there all the time. People think it is ok to throw their garbage in there. I bet it was a sight to see me coming into the car wash at about 100mph and on fire.

Shane sounds like a conspiracy to me. I'll bet those Harley Guys most be after you and Roy.:laugh: :whistle:

I bet you are right. I think we will be safe at Mid-Ohio. After those Orange County Choppers wannabes got laughed at last year I doubt there will be any Harley guys there this year. Damn that was funny. For those who were not there- A couple of $30K choppers came rolling thru the swap meet after hours, around 6 or so. We were sitting around shooting the bull when we heard them reving the hell out of their "bikes". When they finally rode away all you could hear were 100's of people laughing, heckling and generally ridiculing. It was freaking hilarious.

I feel the sudden urge to move this post. So look for it in that other thread, over yonder.....

I was planning on going but I heard Fredde was in the US so I'm saving my dinero to go pay him a visit !

I should have some pictures that i took with my film camera home soon. I will post those as soon as i get up from my nap. :side:

The two '75' bikes in the middle were entered into the ride e'm don't hide'm contest. One of the bkes won a trophy but the owners don't know which one. They are both nice bikes. Roy

Here is the good side of Shane. He had at one time four cameras taking pics for everyones picture album.

That red 75 with the Lesters sure looks nice.Nothing against the green one though.
