I have a chance to buy a 1992 Kawasaki ZX-6-D Ninja. I've never been big on conventional rice rockets but it's only $500. It's all there except for the upper fairing and lights. Runs and drives, 18,000 miles, clean title. It's also about a mile from my house.

Not a bad price. B)

All of the current sport bikes that I've seen for sale that are missing the fairings, is because they were dropped/crashed.

I'd suggest having the frame, front suspension and wheel checked for any damage before plopping down your hard earned dollars on that bike.
There are shops out there that specialize in this, and most even offer truing services if the damage isn't to extensive.

He says it also has GSXR forks on it so I assume it's been crashed. This is a pretty much buy it or not situation, people are lining up behind me and I've got the first shot at it cuz I responded first. (first time for everything!) I think I'm just gonna go for it, maybe I'll become a "stunter" haha.

I would look at it to see if it has a salvage title? if it does it will not be worth much

I asked him about the title first thing, it is totally clean according to him. I will veiw it before buying to make sure it isnt signed wrong or multiple times or any of those other headaches. He said the title is from CA, we are in MA :) He never registered it since buying it.

that on its own can be a big paint in the butt, out of state and not in his name:sick: , anything can be fixed just how much time and money, but it sounds like a good deal anyway

I'm not sure it'll bring much more than the $500 parted out. Might get close or just over the $500, but not worth the time and effort. ZX-6D is not a super popular bike. It was a good sport tourer, but wasn't really popular with the squids.

Well I did promise to drop off a set of T-tops from an 86 Iroc, but that was after the deal was done :) I was too lazy to try and ebay them so I'm happy to give them to someone that can use them.
