What does it take to swap over to LED turn signals/running lights?  I already swapped my four dash lights over to LED.

You will need a load independent turn signal relay first and the correct polarity connection to the LED.
If you have only one turn signal indicator bulb for both directions you need lock diodes. If not you will get a unwanted "hazard turn signal mode" .

I have indicator lights for each side so it sounds like I just need an electronic flasher and led bulbs.  Can you make a recommendation on what led bulbs to get?

My switch to all led lighting has been mostly successful.  I lost one of the bulbs I bought for the turn indicator lights on the dash, so short of a miracle and it just showing up sometime today I will be ordering another one.  I replaced the headlight with a sealed led headlight, got a pair of them for $25.  They were marketed for Jeeps, but the guy said he was putting them on Harleys too.  Since I have to order that one bulb replacement, I think I might also get a couple of led strips to light up the underside of the bike.

Strugis is still the focus and just 28 days away!  I still have to put on the new brake lines from Coremoto.  I need an oil change too.  I am going to replace the battery this weekend just as a precaution.  It's 2 years old and I never seem to get more than 2 or 3 years out of a battery, but I am also bad about just leaving it sit in the bike over winter.  I hope to install a usb port to keep my phone charged too.  Oh, and for those that know me....I am going to lube the clutch cable!

I think I am going to order up aq spare master link for the chain and get a spare inner tube just in case.  I am trying to pack light, but are there any other spare parts you would take for a big trip like Sturgis?

I installed my last led bulb that I needed to make a full conversion.  Odd problem....the red stop light indicator on the dash blinks.  If I turn on a blinker it blinks 180 degrees opposite of the blinker.  Is there a secondary flasher for the hazard lights that the stop indicator might be using?

The led headlight I bought has a halo ring so I found a spare positive in the headlight bucket and hooked it up.

I want to put on a bigger front sprocket to lower rpms for all the highway riding.  Right now I am running a 530 chain with 18/42 sprockets.  How big can I go on the front sprocket?  Could I get away with a 20?  Anyone done this?

Left to do before Sturgis is to grease the front bearings and rebleed the front brakes.  Oh and maybe replace the battery in the elcheapo handlebar clock.

Your red stop light is faulting due to the tail light out relay. I had the same problem. The stop light out relay need the resistance from the incandescent build to stay fault free. You could talk to F64 or Wookie about a resistor to add to the bulb. That’s beyond my pay grade. I sucked up my pride and used one standard incandescent dash bulb and everything works as it should. There are Two flasher units. One hazard and one turn signal. I replaced them both with these  www.superbrightleds.com/vehicle-lights/m...-flasher-and-bracket

I installed the second electronic flasher in hopes it would solve the blinking rear stop light indicator, but it still blinks.  So then I put the old incandescent bulb in and it still blinks!  At this point I rather doubt a resistor led bulb would fix the issue.  Anyone have any ideas about why this is happening?  For now I am going to put a strip of electrical tape over it so I am not annoyed by the flashing.

It's been a while guys and a lot has happened.  Actually IT finally happened, I totaled the bike!  Walked away with a skinned elbow, a cut on my leg and a whole lot of bruises.  Mis judged a corner at night, went off the road and then made the conscious decision to lay that Mfer down!  Good thing too because there was a big metal phone box about 20 feet in front of where I stopped.  Insurance totaled it, but you know I am keeping the bike and will get it back on the road.  I will probably be back looking for help to source the parts I cannot find.  So far though, I think it might be really cheap to fix.  The worst damage is some broken fins on the left side jug, a crease in the left side tail pipe, and gauges/lights broken, tank royally dented (but fixable).  Surprisingly z1enterprises has a lot of these parts!

I am in North Carolina, still a lot of good riding weather left.  I have a list of parts needed to get it back on the road, rideable, without fixing the tank and bending out the crease in the exhaust.....about $500.  Once I know it's in good mechanical shape, I will spend the money on the exhaust and new paint job.
