Kinda sorta Hybrid
08 May 2020 14:07
Am trying to make something along these lines, almost there but search has led here. The blue/silver bike i believe has Kawai wheels (KZ 650 , LTD, Specter and the like) which ones I don't know. I know that there is a difference in series. Also rear only seems to come in 16". Original set up is 19/18. This a 2000 W650. Would prefer the Kawai wheels as to try and maintain rear brake setup and hardware.
The black bike is from a video clip in Japan. Looks to be XS 650 wheels running Yamaha rear components. However most rear wheels for this came in disc and are rare and expensive in drum.
Thanks ahead to all that are willing...R
Could a 16 work, from what series or from what bike or manufacture.

Not sure exactly what you are inquiring about. It seems you have a W650 that you want to put the old seven spoke Kawi mag wheels on. 19" front disk with 16" drum rear. more info needed.

Kz550A (standard) from 1980 to 1983 came with 18" rear, 7-spoke alloy wheels with drum brakes, like the blue/silver bike in the photo. They came with single-disk front 19" as well.
(The Kz550C Ltd came with 16" drum rear.)

1981 KZ550 D1 gpz.

Do you want a 16" Rr wheel or 18"?
Models w 7-spoke cast alloy wheels & Rear drum brake:
16" Rr. 80-83 KZ550C Ltd chain drive models. 1983 KZ650-H3 CSR.
Also, the 83-84 KZ750K Ltd Belt drive Twin models (I assume these can be converted to chain drive).
18" Rr. 80-83 KZ550A. 1980 KZ650-F1. and probably the later KZ650F Z650F models not sold in the USA.
