...and happened upon this gem, an 83 spectre 1100, runs, complete, with a title in my name on its way...18000 miles, kinda rough around the edges but a cool kerker pipe.

If you like power cruisers, and I do, they were great bikes. Painted for the period, very disco meets Smokey and the Bandit. Always bummed me out the way the powder coating always flakes off the engine. They were top of the line at the time. A power cruiser and a canyon carver satisfies about 90% of my motorcycle needs. Like having Ginger and Marianne.

I gave the guy 700 for it. And yes, a bit of the gold is peeling off the motor. Kerker sounds neat, compared to my stock KZ.

there is about a half inch deep water in the front turnsignals...I got her in time, in time to save her from sitting outside...the blinkers still work

I had a chance to take the spectre out and see how it runs out. She runs strong and clean, feels quicker than my kz, but it just may be the lack of fairing and the exhaust note that makes it feel that way. The bike feels tight, has decent tires n brakes. I have a significant oil leak between the head and cylinder on the left side which will need fixed and it has leaks around the carb mounts. I think I'm going to use the kerker on my kz and tackle these repairs and check the valves and try to sync the carbs as my winter project. The only damage I see on the bike is some dentage on the tank. Very nice stock seat. My question for the KZ gurus on here, do you think I will need jetting changes if I put the kerker on my stock 83 kz1100a?.
