1982 KZ1100 A-2 (warning image heavy) was created by Zen Shenron
A craigslist score for me picked this bike up on Christmas Eve 7k(7000)miles on the clock.
PO's story was kid gets his motorcycle license and parents get him his first bike, enter said KZ1100.
I already knew what he was going to say next lol, long story short he laid it down on the right side.
Right engine cover for coil signal generator and automatic timing advancer ....gone.
Tach busted up and gauge bracket tweaked a bit, along with upper corner of odometer housing.
Turn signals were trashed aftermarket bits.
A not too bad dent in the exhaust baffle if you can call it that, and a few slide marks.

I got the bits I need from my A-1 for now, turn signals all replaced back to stock.
Full gauge cluster swapped out, also ignition switch because all the tumblers had fallen out of the original.
Engine guards will swap over to.
Filled with fresh oil and filter and decided to see it the motor would turn and electrics were ok, wouldn't you know that thing fired rite up bad gas and all.
She ran for about a minute and a half or so and started to stumble a bit, so went to give a little twist and throttle would not move.
Carbs frozen solid so carb cleaning it it, honestly was expecting to have to do it anyway and already had most of the need supplies and o'rings on hand.
Carbs were bone stock and some ham fist jacked the pilot jets up, oh well .

Good thing I have to go threw the carbs and the PO laid it down any guesses as to the probable outcome with the stock jetting?(insert sarcasm)

I am looking for a frame grab rail, turning out to be a project in itself lol.
I thought I might have seen a picture of another 1100A with a Specter grab rail mounted.
If I cannot find the original rail, would the Specter rail mount in the same spots?
I am hoping one of the KZ sages will chime in.

Got the brakes torn down, the fluid was quite old so a full rebuild is in order.
The piston bores were quite crusty but I think they will clean up nicely.

The first piston wasn't to bad, but still a little bit of pitting
The other piston did not fare quite so well, oh well 3 new pistons it will be.
I have all new seals and dust boots on hand and pistons, and new stainless braided lines ordered and on the way.
Master Cylinder needs a good cleaning as well.

Clutch lever turned out ok, but could have used a couple of more coats.
