Great info Steve and thanks, didn't know that about the cases, which side is non-replaceable the right side (rear brake side/throttle side) on these? And love that pic, saw it a while back and always a good one

The ignition housing. I have a throttle control and a strain relief so when I'm at speed, I set the CC or just rest my hand on the SR. When I get home I'll take pics. Just waiting for it to warm up. TTYL

Very cool and sounds like a good setup Steve! Spent most of my time this summer and fall on Pops' 1979 KZ650 SR, absolutely fell in love with that bike

Nice 82 there GPzGuy!!!! And you are right they don't stand out much when blacked out, not sure that would work on my 85 with the lower cowling/hawk bill scoop as I call it. Would have to check and see.

With the lower fairing I'm not sure how many options there are for sliders outside of a custom bracket on the front maybe with some skate wheels for sliders. But your fairings and shifter will still be vulnerable, left hand falls have a rare tendency to crack the shifter bushing on the crankcase.

I see what you mean with the lower cowling. I was thinking those years had the smaller body mounted fairing. Great looking bike BTW.

Appreciate the info and makes sense, was kinda thinking this would be the answer but was hoping someone somewhere might know something I didn't.

Personally I don't like sliders, I know there is good reasons for them, just I've gone down the road a few times before with just minor scuffing. Side casings I've sold for £20-30 on ebay, even unmarked GPz series arent really that rare. I have moriwaki casings on 3 of mine that are very difficult / impossible to replace

If I ever crash bad enough to grind a motor to the cranknose on either side , then either i will be laughing at my mishap from far above, or my casings will be the least of my concerns.

edit,, sorry they are rare, just not worth a lot to buy or sell it seems on 550/750's.

As promised. The CC is 20 years old but still works. I'll buy a new one sometime. The cramp buster I use all the time and they're cheap. Lots of Sunday drivers out today.
