Well, in context of affordability, the words "I can't" are often the predicessor to, "but I can learn to do it myself". "I can't afford..." has led me to learn how to do a lot of stuff that I didn't know before. :-)

That's right and the ones that do it themselves generally value what they have. I had no money but I had sand paper, polishing compound, rattle cans, tools and time. Good thing, when I had the money, most of the heavy lifting was done. It wasn't a rat bike anymore, it was a classic. :woohoo:

I like the look of shiny spokes too, and I also like the KZ cast wheels, but I agree that some mag type wheels are just butt ugly. The all-time loser in my book is the Honda Comstar wheel (see below). It's a pieced together ugly design that even Honda abandoned. Ed

Couldn't agree more - the ones i had on a CB 900 Bol'dor were farkin awful(differnt to pic) and a few polishes had taken the weak gold anodising off but i like my Zephyr ones very much - gonna take the greyish paint off one day and polish the lot .

They looked cheesy as hell. The Lesters were good looking. Yamaha came out with a look alike.
Love that swing arm mick. The Mags look good too.

I agree spokes look best, but mags are easier to keep clean and don't get out of true unless you hit something.

Comstar... What was Honda thinking?

I don't mind the wheels kawasaki used from Enkei. They don't look half bad.
