For comparison, here it is with 350mm and 335mm shocks:
I'll take a closer look at fork/bar clearance in a bit.

what pitch chain are you running?
the longer shocks definitely look better.

Looking at it more I agree with the longer shocks, it seems more level. As for the chain I was thinking 530 just for durability.
Edit: Also, does anyone know the compatibility of the ignition timing cover between models? It would be nice to swap the plain one out with one with the "DOHC" text.

on 900/1000's the ignition covers swap out no problem.
www.gearingcommander.com/ can help sort out your final drive.
i run 18/38 520 chain(same pitch as 530) 190/55-17 tire and it is great for the highway but maybe a touch too tall for alot of around town work,as you have to slip the clutch a lil taking off.i have no tach so i am not able to give good rpm references.

I may be way off on this, but from that site it looks like 18/43 is pretty close to stock for the 82 GPZ 1100 (which is where I got my output shaft for the shaft to chain conversion and seems to be the same engine :S )? I also will probably go with 520 now that I see how easy it is to find sprockets in that size.
Edit: Actually, I can't find 5/8 offset 520 sprockets in 18 tooth, only 16. So 16/40 then? :S
