i have posted about this bike in several forums because it needed a little TLC.
Few thing bike needed and few things i ended doing.
Rebuilt front brakes , Change chrome light bucket to black , remove rear grab bar , Install aluminum front fork brace , install rear arm brake with a aluminum , Change out chrome handle bars with super moto black bars. Rebuilt 26mm carbs. Need to rebuilt the 29mm still, New seat , Rear Progressive 12 series Shocks , New brake and brake controls.
much of the items I had already from my 77 project.
How bike stand now

Gray, black and chrome. This bike looks great!
The gloss black engine cases and covers are very nice. Did you paint them or powder coat?

Very nice bike, the Ltd's are my favorite bike to ride.
I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

That's a really sweet looking ride :woohoo: :woohoo:
The seat looks great too, I was thinking of getting one of those........any chance for a review on the seat? Also what are the hand controls from? they look pretty cool and fit the bike perfectly

The seat pad is thin and hard...I don't think is a seat for long hauls. Also if you have a LTD tank you'll have a gap between the front of the seat and tank. Fit better on a A model bike...
As for the hand controls( clutch and brakes) bout off ebay from China.
So far so good...lever little short because the wiring from the switch blocks don't let the controls come together any closer.

That's the same kind of seat I bought from Z1. Yeah, had to add some padding. Hard as a rock. Will buy a better aftermarket seat cover when this one wears out. I wanted the seat pan more than anything else. Mine was shot after 40 years. Got my L control from z1partsinc.net. Will get the R soon. Good stuff but had to pay CA sales TAX.
