My tank looks similar. Can you outline what you'll be doing, or got a link?

I was shocked but the sending unit does work it was covered in rust as well. cleaned it up a bit put tank back on bike wanted to fire it up and take it to the BMV 4 numbers inspection electronic ignition is fizzled out on me. Thanks for the link I do need gasket along with quite a few other little bits. I was planning on painting it stock as far as what I've had in mind this is a picture of my 78 LTD as you can see I'm kind of a fan of stock

i have dealt with them and had very positive experiences.
the yen has been sliding lately so that means we can now afford some of the stuff from japan that we couldn't before.
it took less than a week for shipping as well.
if you will look around their site they have quite a few z1r specific item's that are hard to find.

Every thing rubber on this .we'll almost every thing needs replacing.
I think it must have sat a lot longer than what the past owner remembered. .
I had a bit of trouble with the carbs leaking..bad plug wires.
Headlight is real dim even with new battery. ( I NEED Z1R wiring schematic) unless it's the bulb I have some more trouble shooting to do.
So much for trying to get it down to the BMV on its own power within the 30 days that I bought it

Ok so since I'm waiting on parts from sudco for the carbs.
I took leon's advice and dropped the oil pan to check the screen.
Didn't know that I could have left pump on but anyway..screen had minoot bits of rubber. .and pan had quite a bit of gritty bits. .
Will Cleen up everything and bolt back together when I get home tomorrow. ..thanks for the wiring diagram leon will pick up contact cleaner next and start cleaning all electrical contacts. Mfolks recommend a certain brand in another thread I was reading. I might pick up some of that. I have p b blaster brand
