Hope your pops feels better soon, family is important.
Rearsets and motor brackets look great. Are thinking of knurling the foot pegs in the future?

Waaaaaaaaaaaay cool project. Big 'thumbs up'. Man, you've even got Leon all fired-up; you've got it going on. :) I have a couple questions: I had thought you scored a set of 33 Mikunis? ... are you going with the CRs instead? Either way, you're good, 33s won't be too much for that motor. Your intake idea is very interesting; I'll enjoy watching it pan out; sounds really cool (you could probably run a late-model style flat filter with your idea) ... but why do you think the outter carbs lean out at speed with pods? Just curious. ;)

Keep on, keepin' on!!!

First, yes CR Special 33s. I was thinking of doing the Mikunis before I found the CRs.

So based off of my personal experience, the pods are a pain in the ars. I have read that some guys jet the outer carbs bigger to compensate for the amount of air coming around the outside of the motor, cross wind. I ditched my pods when I found a Henry Abe "bread box" filter. I did some research and found that a lot of guys would tape off the very ends of the "bread box" to help eliminate cross wind, it worked. I ran the bike with and without the ends blocked on the filter. It ran much more consistent with the ends blocked.

This is why I decided to do the custom intake.

At speed the air pressure around the pods is less because of the vortex created by the passing wind. That's why the air box is better or something like it. The frame becomes pressurized by the wind thus providing more constant air flow. There is another thread with a link talking about this and other things.
Very interesting.

It is really looking good. What tail is that? Don't want to nitpick but can you get it tucked in a little tighter so it is flush with the bottom?

Where did you get the bolt on bar brace?
