Ah I see. That's a good idea. But I'm afraid it's got to go. No room for that nonsense now. LOL. I think I got the rear brake figured out tonight. We'll the hard part any way. I'm using the stock lever because I don't want forward controls and I don't want to spend the money on something else. Here is my set up. Sorry for the blurry pic.

Any opinions on weather this will work ok, and how does it look? I noticed after the second pic that the rod looked at an angle so I fixed that already. Also hooked up the return spring to the pin holding the rod to the linkage. Al that's left is hook up the break light switch.

Yes I hate the slag. All I have at the moment though. I'm checking in buying a tank for gas soon.

Thanks- I was hoping there was a version of those that are 17s, but no luck. I am going with those rims for another steampunk project, they look enough like locomotive rims to get what i want. So I am now looking for those rims, forks etc LOL.

Slag is no biggie. Wire wheel takes it right off. Just don't get inclusions in the weld itself!

Got some more parts in today. All excited cause I got my sprockets from Z1 enterprises. We'll that didn't last long, the chain I bought is 120 link not even thinking I needed longer. Well I'm about 6 links short. Also a heads up for anyone that is changing to a 530 setup. If you have the bolt and flanged nut that you bend the tabs around on your bike. The 18 tooth front sprocket that Z1 sells DOES NOT have the holes for the locking tabs to go into :( So I guess I'm either buying a longer chain or getting another 120 to make mine longer. Also bought some plug wires I like. Looking forward to putting those on hopefully tomorrow. Then I'll be down to wiring the bike. Heres a shot of the parts I got today. A special thanks to KZ10006 for getting me the shift lever I needed. Great price and fast shipping. Would definitely buy from him again.

Well yesterday I did it. Got my chain on, wheel lined up and started figuring out the wiring. after a couple hrs I couldnt take it anymore. I hooked up the battery, set it on the frame and used tape to hold it behind my seat. Hooked up the electrics, start button and off switch. bundled and tapes all the wires next to motor. Installed my exhaust and fired it up. Well thats not good enough on a running bike, right? So I unloaded it off the work table, welded on the kick stand and set there contemplating my safety, LOL. OK, front brake, eh no need. Back brake, check. Shifter, check. Clutch, check. Off switch, check. OK fired that puppy up and headed around the block. What a rush, I forgot how fast this sucker was. It's only been 2 months since I rode it. So I still have to get a tail light, head light, battery, rear fender, battery, and wire it. So far I'm way ahead of schedule for this "winter project". Hopefully I can keep moving forward at this pace. After I'm done I'm going to upload some detail pics of the stuff I've had to fab and such.

Thanks guys. Its is fast as f__k. I can't wait to get it finished. Trying to get all the wiring figured out and pull it all back apart to paint the frame is what I'm up against now. I'll def be rolling come spring though. I guess I know what my X-Mas list is going to consist of. LOL
