just picked up my 1980 kz1000b4 gonna be a long project but will post pics as i go along. might have some questions here and there.

Cheap, cheap.... cut down the foam w a nasty old saw & recover it w some marine grade vinyl - fabric stores typically carry it.
Or use an electric carving knife to shape it better. The Travelcade instructions say to spray the top of the foam w Super77 spray adhesive or something similar.

yea i know how to make the seat how i want it but to actually cover it the way i want i got know clue oh to do any of that... never touched a sewing machine in my life lol

Cheap, cheap, you wouldn't use a sewing machine. Just cut the fabric a little larger than needed, pull it into position over the prongs to snag it & kinda tuck & fold it at the corners etc. I'm assuming your pan has the pointy prongs. Bend them out to ~45o, poke holes w an awl, then press the material onto the prongs. Bend the prongs back to the original position & cut off any excess material.

Also does anyone know what i need to do to have a kickstart only? I want to compleatly delete the battery and ignition system. Only want the lights i need. A bare bike
