I don't know the specifics, but to ditch the battery, you'll need to install a capacitor in its place to supply power to the ignition system to fire the coils. Search KZR for capacitor or battery elimination or something like that. Note any replies by loudhvx... or just look thru his posts. I saw a couple of topics in regards to the 750-Twin. You might want to start a new topic on the subject.

Hard to run without an ignition system, so i left it in. The diagram is on the last page of the Mattylight thread in the electrical forum.

Have you seen the guys make the flat brat seats with skateboards/snow skates? I ran across this when building my xs last summer. Seems easy and uber cheap!

Seems like it would feel like sitting on a board after 100 miles or so; no so comfy. Ed

Oh and it does!
It's worth it to me because I much prefer to sit as low as possible on my rides.

If you do end up building a seat, I would use rivets instead of metal tabs. Easier to work with and longer lasting in my opinion.

And this is the sort of thing you will be looking at to do if you want to remove the battery:

most of these bikes are similar it seems but I don't know if this is exactly what will be required for yours

I used a Sparx Cap on my xs when I Went batteryless. It worked great and was easy to mount!
