Still sounds a bit rich to me yet.

Going to take it out in the country and do some higher speed runs, and then see what the plugs look like.

Been chasing my jetting for a few days now. Plugs say rich, so I been leaning out one circuit at a time. I learned my lesson many years ago about making massive changes then trying to figure out what did what!!! I have been through 3 different needles, and about 10 different clip positions!!!! Same with the air correction jets. After each short ride, and looking at the plugs, I do my jet or needle change. I am on my 4th set of plugs. You can't see any real change in plug color if you use the same old plugs after changing jets. Glad I got Keihin CR's. Its a snap to change needles or clip position with them. I really feel sorry for folks with stock VM carbs, or even 29mm smoothbores when you have to change needle clip position!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see in the morning if I got the jetting super close!!!! I just dropped the slow jet again to see if that changes anything. LEAN IS MEAN!!!!

Its a snap with Keihin CR's to change needles. Take the top off, move the little sliding lock piece, and pull out the needle!!! Well with their cost in my book!!!!

Finally after three days of taking the carbs off and on, and changing about everything in the carbs but the bodies them self, I got the jetting spot on!!!!! Had the carbs off the bike 15 different times, plus numerous needle jet changes, but now it runs like a raped ape!!! Pulls super strong in the lower gears. You hit 6,500RPM in 3rd or 4th and that 32 year old rear tire breaks loose, and spins till I shift. I got to come up with some cash so I can put some new Avons on it and see how it really pulls!!! Avon is the only people that still make 19" front tires in a race compound. A AM18 front in soft compound, and a AM23 med compound rear should make me happy!!!!

Check out this plug color.

This is with about 20 to 30 miles on them.
