Hi Doug

Once I have the new brace welded, I will cut the old brace off. This should minimize any warpage during the process. This will also give me room for some shock mounts on top of the arm. (It would be kind of a wild look with both braces thou......... B) )

Cheers Shannon

Id say that swingarm would be plenty strong without either brace B)

Ok, haven't been doing to much KZ lately. Repaired the stator wires and messing with the handle bar arragement. What do you think, clip on's with custom mounts or fat bars? (KX high bend)

Can't help you with the bar decision, looking at clipons or superbike bars myself. What are your resets off of or are they for a KZ?

Hi Wayne'

Resets are '95 gsxr 750(the wings are cut off). I have only 1 bolt in the top mounting hole just to hold them in place. I am going to weld a lower bolt hole mounting point to the frame.

It very much depends on what you will be doing with the rest of the bike....my personal preference is for the fat bars. I can see the clip-ons arrangement looking good with a pair of larger headlights though. Like it so far a lot!!

how are you going to use the bike, daily rider, rough roads, distance? personally ive never like the riding style of drop bars, i prefer to sit on the bike than lay on it. what sort of budget, big budget ? :woohoo:

So decision made, fat bars it is. I'm in to over 40 crowd and some things are not like they use to be. Even my VFR I feel a little to far forward. Just haven't been able to swallow the pill for a set of helie bars.

So a bit of progress on the bike. The rear sets are done, some frame bracing done (more to do) and decided to change the rear brake linkage set up. It is a bit different, some of it will be hidden when I brace the frame in this area. It also will clean up frame in this area leaveing a chance to mount some rear pegs.
