The T-800 Daily Rider Rebuild. was created by tjgonz
Decided to redo my kz750 twin after my gas tank sprung some unpatchable leaks.
It was a 1969 cl 350 tank that fit so good on her but I really want to make the bike MORE my own, besides just building her from scratch with some stock parts..I WILL LEAVE NOTHING STOCK!
Never uploaded the pics but heres links to first build:
The Tanooki
& the more thorough build before that:
The Kramer
& heres to new beginnings..

Plan is to go with mostly bare metal like a terminator..
so anything plastic is getting tossed or sold.
The new Sportster tank..scored at 4am on ebay for $51 shipped. :woohoo:
Needed a gas cap, found a cool pop up one.
Nice straight petcock, old one didnt fit..harley tanks have huge bungs.
Looking to sell my old one soon.
My Father In Law has a bad ass Triumph & BSA resting in the backyard that will get some attention one day. Anyways love the clean look of the bars..less is more. I like to hide all my controls so I picked up a slim triumph replica throttle.
Kawi vulcan 900 master with lever to tidy up that right bar end.
After some elbow grease tanks ready for some art.

I looked at the pictures of your Yamaha build. I am now convinced that the ugly rumors about Yamaha employing 4th grade girls to do their welding is true.

Man youre telling me..couldnt even make an effort to sand the excess. Not that kawi does the best work either..I must say after sanding my harley tank, 100% there is no Japanese bike that is made with that quality & attention to detail. Im sure this would be a Harley forum if everyone here wasnt on a budget or penny pinching but hey someones gotta do it. That said Im still happy to be on a Kawi.

I've heard that one before. I've been told the only reason I don't ride a HD is because I can't afford to.
That about sums up the whole Harley group mentality in a nutshell.

I could be wrong, but I suspect most folks on this forum could be riding Harleys if that's what they wanted. I for one have no desire to ride one; I'm not a hater - they just don't appeal to me. Ed

That statement came out badly sorry, obviously we all ride Kawis by choice!
I meant to get across that I myself definitely cannot afford a HD & most likely wouldnt be cutting into it like this if I did have one. So I would be losing a lot of experience riding one Harley, rather than being able to work on several types of bikes.
