Can you grab a pic of the bottom of the carbs? And perhaps one of the backside of them?

One cylinder has a scratch, which is dissapointing as the top end only has a few hours run time..

24 Aug 2012 16:05Can't tell for sure, can you take a picture of the right and bottom sides? The float bowl appears to be something with an accelerator pump.
What are your plans for the bike? Are you doing a full Z1 restoration?

Yep, true. I was thinking they could be the 17mm drain plugs on the early Z1 VM28SC carbs; except those carbs had the low-profile 2 bolt top cover.
Looks like you've got yourself a set of VM29 smoothbores!

I know the pics are kinda crappy, but I been hella busy with work. 12 hr shifts 6 days a week and mom in hosp. So.. Doing everything with phone. If I wede to use my pc I could be a lil more detailed with descriptions.
I will grab a couple more pics when I get home. But thanks for replies. I was guessing these were the right carbs.

And no plans for full restoration, just wanna get it up and running again. Over the winter I will take apart and clean up. But use as rider... Not a show piece.
I have a couple other bikes I can ride while this one is down.. So no hurry.

I have a few dual sport bikes. This is the one I spend most time on. 07 klr.. Just turned 43.000 miles yesterday. I bought new in 07.
But not the best hwy commuter. It will do bout anything.. But would like a street bike again. This is where the z1 comes in.
Never part with my ol wraggly klr though... To much fun.

My 29's have one bowl withthat square piece that seems like it is for a pump. Wasn't that an option back in the day?
