Thanks leon

Went down tonight, cleaned out the oil pan, and spent at least two hours trying to scrape the gasket surfaces clean for the oil pan. I wasn't able to get a pic of the oil pump pick-up screen, because as soon as I loosened the pump assembly, there was apparently a big "glob" of oil in there that came out and dislodged the crap. after I got done with that I put the pipes on, so to the best of my knowledge we are just some air filters away from firing her up. so, tomorrow we ride, 05 registration stickers or not
just as a precaution, is there some crazy oil pump priming ritual that I should be adhering to?(other than giving her a dozen or so kicks with ignition off)

thanks

Tom

The pan is a 52, its been torn down for 10-15 years at least. He just got the motor back a couple of years ago(spent a long long time at the machine shop, on of those back burner jobs). At any rate, to the best of my knowledge it is all there, and its Next! I just gotta get the ole boy off his butt, I can turn the wrenches, just need the info(which he has).

a couple pics from last night

when I remove this the oil came of and cleared all the crud from the screen before I could get a photo, reminded me of cleaning a lint trap
