Here are a couple pictures after the initial scrub down....no polish or wax or anything yet but looks sooooo much better.

Haven't updated in a while. I got the original carbs rebuilt and reinstalled. Checked the valve clearance and all were within spec...I adjusted 2 to get them closer to the middle of the range. Got a new battery too.
Now for the big news...I decided to pull off the bags, trunk and fairing. I just couldn't resist taking them off. I got the stock turn signals back on and working too. I've also done a little more cleaning but still have a long way to go. I still have to get another seat....don't care for this one. A few pics:

I've noticed that every piece of bodywork has a hand written code underneath it....this one is under the tail. Does anybody know what they mean? I'm sure their from the factory:
