Saved Another One

Just put a down payment on this:



The current owner bought it for the smoothbores and the front rotors.

It's been modified some, but it looks pretty clean and pretty well looked after. Once the rotors are swapped for some others next week, it's mine.

It's got a big bore kit (1136??) and it ran before the carbs were yanked off last fall. One plus. I won't have to clean the carbs!

The rear shocks pushed forward looks trick.

What kind of front brake rotors and calipers are those and would they fit my 78 LTD 1000??? I like the dual piston calipers shown . Can always use more stopping power and they look kool too...

Ya, the frame has been "worked". You might notice a brace below the side cover. I'm nor sure the extent or the true quality of the work, but it seems to be good. We'll have to strip it down to see what we've got here. The swingarm has a brace on the underside too. You won't be able to see it in the pic, but it's there.

The calipers look a little like ones off an ex500 or something similar. I like 'em too!

I'll bring it home sometime next week.

Thanks guys! I'm cautiously optimistic that we have a decent platform for a good runner here.

I think the current owners comment that it had an 1136 kit in it was a little optimistic. :lol:

It looks like that kit is meant for the GPz1100 and would likely be a little much for the KZ1000. I've never dealt with a kitted engine before though, so I'll have to dig deeper to check this out.

Looks like it's got Lester wheels too. Good bike!

Ya, I thought they look like Lesters too, but I'm unable to confirm at this time. THAT would be a score! :woohoo:

Look on the spokes and one of them should have the name "Lester" unless it's been filled in with layers of paint from a previous owner.
