Saved Another One

I've been thinking about this project all weekend! I haven't even got my grubby mitts on it yet, but I have it "built" in my head! This ever happen to you?? :laugh:

Ever since I finished my KZ that you see as my avatar, I've wanted to build something in a style that's a little more "passenger friendly" and maybe more like a stocker.

My original thought was to acquire a Z1 or a kz900 and fit some four into four stock pipes. Now, with another kz1000 I won't do that, but my plan is to build a "Z1 Tribute" machine.

So, here's the plan so far. I mean, how much of a plan can you have when you don't even have possession of the bike yet! :laugh:

Gotta figure out what's up with the engine. Is there a kit in it? What is it? What condition is it in? Etc, etc. If it's a good performance unit, maybe swap with my current KZ and restore the new bike to stock.

I want to use a set of wire wheels that have Sun aluminum rims. Dual discs on the front and a drum brake rear hub. I've got my Bassani "replica" 4 into 1 to retro fit back to original to use for a pipe.

If the wheels will be sold. If they are Lesters, maybe I can fund a paint job or new body work.

So, there we go for now. Dreams just dreams.

I'll post later this week when I get her home!

I've got at least 4 or 5 more builds in my head and I'm always stashing parts away for each particular build. The one I have the most parts for will get built first. In the end it's called planning.

a long time to build another project just by saving my lottery ticket money!
