Thanks guys.

I'm pretty sure I'm keeping the stock swinger and rear suspension, it works well enough for what I do with it and fits the style. Only question is what the ride height ends up as.

I put the matching front signals on and succeeded in blowing a fuse. After 3 stops before I found the right one I instead grabbed a blade fuse box and updated it.

She had a "photo shoot" today.

Definitely. Probably not until riding season is over, I want to built the whole thing off the bike and swap it as an assembly at once and I want to avoid any more down time during prime riding season. The budget is pretty dry right now too. Have to finish my home remodel over the summer and my first kid will be born next month.

I understand. I don't want my bike down for long periods either. It's the only pure streetbike I've got right now. With Leon's help mine was only down for a little more than a week with my fork swap. Your bike should get alot of looks this summer.

how did you mount the license plate?

I had a small license plate braket laying around, came of a newer GSXR or ZX6R I think, bolted it to the chain guard.

I might commission his help when it's time to do mine too. Should be almost the exact same job for the stem, I've got 636 trips too. The part that I'm least looking forward to is the hub to rotor adapters I'll need machined, they will cost a fortune. I've seen a 5 bolt 40 spoke Harley hub for a 1" axle, I'm tempted to pick one up and see if it makes the job easier. My ZX axle looks to be about 22mm and the KZ axle is 19mm so one of those combos needs to work somehow.

Nothing really new to report. Just trying to ride it but we've had an onslaught of rain. At higher speeds if I give the bars a little shake it's very unnerving, does not feel very stable. I think I need to lower the rear down a bit. I don't really care to ride at freeway speeds as it is, just feels too squirrely, noisy and windy.

STILL waiting on my triples almost a month later, it's looking like I found a deadbeat seller. I can accelerate the ebay case tomorrow.

Got my money refunded. Now to wait for a deal to pop up, everything is way overpriced right now.

Not much going on, riding and enjoying it and watching ebay for deals.

Also trying not to die from these brakes. The back locks up with a slight touch and the front couldn't lock up if I wanted it to. It's alarming coming in to a corner and not being able to scrub off speed as quick as you need.

Slowing tinkering here and there, working around the new baby's schedule.

Finally found another set of triples that weren't outrageous. I ended up with a 636 lower and ZX10 upper, I have read they are the same spacings so I hope that's the case.

Last night I made a tach output plug, using the threaded part off the broken cable and welding a plug into the end of it. The future gauges will be electronic, and I may forgo the tach anyway.

Also I ran a tank of 87 octane (had been running 89) and a lot of the popping on decel is gone and throttle response is smooth, no more stumbles. I didn't expect such a drastic change.

Thanks.

So I got the ZX10 top triple and can confirm the spacings are the same as the 636 parts. The pro of using the ZX10 part is it's flat across the top while the 636 top bumps up at the ends, losing a bit more height. When sportbike forks are already so much shorter than KZ ones you need every last inch.

I pressed out the stems and measured for the sleeve to put the KZ stem in the 636 triple. Looks like a friend of mine will be able to throw it on his lathe. Going to look like this:

On a side note, what should I do with these? Couldn't pass them up, $50 for all. Is a baby KZ enduro in my future?
