It looks like they are Emgo brand, Dennis Kirk part # 39-1517 and 39-1518. I have had them for several years, I like the way they look and they have held up well.

Something has come up which might derail my project for a while. I mentioned in an earlier post that I used to own my friend's earlier bike, an '86 FJ1200. Well, the mutual friend that I sold it to was ready to let it go, and...........
I blew the KZ budget getting this back in my garage, but I couldn't let it go to someone else. It needs very little to get it back on the road - carbs cleaned, battery, and fork seals should mostly take care of it. I'm so stoked!
I have plenty of fabrication projects to do, so I can keep moving forward on the KZ, but the parts budget is gone for right now. Looks like I need to get some more Ebay auctions going........

I had good reasons to sell it when I did. My life is in a different place now, and it was time to put it back in the garage. Things work out sometimes

I had an exact copy too and it was an 86. Great bikes and was strong like a fright train straight line. Take corners with it was different matter. Like a wrestling match to get her through the corners. I lived in southeast Mi at the time . Use to love to hit the country roads their and Canada and kick it up to 150+ mph. Rock sold at any speed to the limit. And it got there in a flash without breaking a sweat. Bike looked great doing it. I had scratched my lower pan on a curb. So I had ordered a lower aftermarket cowling which came up all to the way to the fairing. Color matched it and everything. Looked great.
With original cowel

Oh, yeah, the bodywork on the bike is a huge motivator! What's slowing me down right now is the broken toe I gave myself at work last week
My goal is to have functional rearsets on the bike by the end of the weekend
