Some have said that they had problems as the sticker has the manufacturers info if stopped or for license applications. Some who rake frames cut the stock neck and then give the part with the sticker on it back to owner so he can carry it on bike just in case. I always just tape it off and paint frame. Doesn't hurt to leave it on there!
good deal that's what i'll probably end up doing then. I don't need an inspection cause it was an in state purchase but for future sale i'll keep it intact.

oh yes i know. i've searched ebay far and wide the first day i got it home and out of all the boxes. There is quite a bit of kz200/250 stuff so i should be able to find anything i need.

Bump
I've painted the frame a pistachio green color, i think it looks great with the cream wheels.
A little milk crate paint job, i'm sure others have done this
quick question, what kind of battery do most use to hide under the seat or under a tail, and where can i get one?

fun bike Moshua's....dont worry about the battery now though...get it all back together as soon as you get done doing your wacky paint jobs...you got stuff shiny good...cause you also got to have good idea where your headed???
but in short what kind of battery depends kinda on what you got planned...use the wiring you got?

yeah i'd like to use the existing wiring with the bike. i'd just like to move the battery to a hidden location so the area underneath the seat is completely open

Check out the thread I started in electrical concerning running w/o a battery. They had some interesting advise.

Im loving the colors so far! Sorry if you already mentioned this, but is this just spray paint that your using? Have you had previous success iwth whatever type of paint this is in the past?
Im looking forward to seeing the finished project. Ill be checking in on this periodically...
By the way, this is daniel, the guy who sold you the bike... I have retired myself from motorcycle projects. (atleast for now!) and am buying a new scooter. Perhaps if I have one good runnning, dependable bike I might be able to better appreciate a "project".

One of my favorite bikes on here is "The Mosquito". This project has similar possibilities. I think I'd look into that batteryless system. Got a feeling there will be a lot watching you. I will be. Good Luck.
Take it from me cuz I found

I'm with Proxy. I thought Mosquito 2.0 when I first saw this thread. I have always thought that a really stripped down, super light small twin like a KZ400 would be a fun bike for around town type use. Kinda like a bicycle with a 35hp motor. :woohoo:

That one's perfect! If you guys haven't checked it out yet, I found a cool blog that shows a lot of the small displacement customs here:
