Hey, it's your bike you can do what you want. I was just making a point that there IS a market for those old dual sports, and they aren't just junk bikes to make Frankenbike fun out of.

should be cool.
can't wait to see how it turns out.
i have an old 86 cr250 chassis that had the engine and radiators pulled to build a shifter cart.
i keep wanting to stick a banshee engine in it.
but then i want to put banshee engines in every engineless wayward two stroke i see so............
keep us posted,

I really dig the duck tail... very reminiscent of a KZ. Looks like a cool project.

I haven't done any single shock conversions, but I would think the angle of the shock is going to be very important for the linkage system at the bottom to work properly. With the wrong angle it's easy to drastically change the progression of the suspension. So you would have to try to match the mounting angle from the bike the mono-shock came from.
Since the Kawi frame looks pretty skinny, the only real strong points are where the original shocks mounted to the frame intersections. If those points are not where the new shock needs to mount (in order to match the shock angle from the donor bike), then you will probably need a way to link the top frame tubes with the rear frame tubes to get more strength where the shock will mount.
Your actual mount strategy looks plenty strong (to me), but I would just worry if the frame is strong enough where the shock needs to be mounted.
Hopefully someone with more dirt-bike suspension knowledge will chime in.
