Good luck. I love the straight bars. Other than putting shocks on the back I would have left it as is. Maybe clip ons, 1200cc and an oil cooler.

Finish it, too. Not like me.
I have a similar project that has been sitting for 5 or 6 years now.
Then I started 4 other projects.
Rake the neck a little.
Bigger rear tire. Extend the swing arm. V/H sidewinder. Make only left hand turns

The ass end of that bike looks great! Is there a build thread on it?

ok now the front is done i started to mock the front and rear so if i had any changes it would not mess up the painted frame. they both fit fine. from what i have read on here i knew i would have to notch the frame so the chain wouldnt rub.other than that i cut the pass. peg braces so the swing arm would hit there also. didnt want to do that but i have them in case i want to build it stock some day.after mockup i started to strip it down and pull the motor also found a trick way to do this on (here) and it is alot easyer than trying to fight it out when it is in the uprite postion and that is i built a bow for the motor to sit in on its side then lift the frame off of the motor works great.

now that everything is painted it was time to put it back togather this was the fun part watching your dream come to life.wireing harness and motor went first.i went to the rear next;i ordered a swingarm from D&G chassis to my specs 6" over 11" wide. went with a gsxr 6" wide sprad wheel wrapped with a shinko 190/50zr/17.had all bushings & spacers made used 39t sproket and gsxr caliber. wish i would have went with a 200 tire now that i see the room i still have when the 190 wears out i will:laugh: bolted it to the frame and i was done for the day

after bolting the rear end on it was time to put the chain on.i went with a 5/8" offset 15t 530 pitch sprocket with a 38t rear, had to grind alittle of the inside of the sprocket cover space it about a 1/8" and that was that. next was the new v&h sidewinder header.this is where the problems started there was no real place to the bolt the back of the header & the brake lever was not going to work:angry: i have seen the way other people wrap the brake around the pipe and so on i didnt want to go that route, got to looking on ebay at brakes came up with the gsxr rears i already had the caliper on the weel so no brainer, it is all one unit brake peg all in one and it even had a brkt. to mount the pipe:laugh:with alittle work they fit great & work great also, problem solved. i also used them on the left side it came with linkage & pivet part that goes on the shifter shaft now both sides match. put a slick set of shocks on you will see them in the pics at the end of the build.now i know most of you see that there is no kick start but the bike starts & runs perfect so i didnt think twice.i put the frt.end on (no pics sorry) i put new h/lamp chrome ring - h/lamp mgts - drag bars- rt. & lft switches - grips polished every thing that was not new and it was a bone deal.
