it was easy. the zx9 front alows u to use the kz speedo too.
Do u have a machine shop, or welding equipt?

I have a flux/MIG welder and there are many machine shops around me here. I just recently (6 months or so) had my cylinders bored out at one. So this does sound pretty do-able.

When you say you can use the kz speedo, how so? I see people have welded the tabs onto the triple tree so they can use stock handle bars which I think is awesome!

usually they just bolt clamps to the tree's for the handle bars, no welding neccesary.
i used ruber damped, clamps from a yz125.i cut the gauge mounts off of the kz tree and had them welded onto the zx9 tree.

The kz and zx9 speedo cables are the same except for the bottom nut. i took the bottom nut off of the zx9 cable and switched it with the kz cables nut .just use the zx9 speedo gear at the wheel.

oooooh I see what you are saying now. For the steering clamps, you rubber mounted them, and welded on the holders for the gauges. I see that now. Pretty cool idea! I like the idea of rubber mounting the steering. Any pro's/cons in using the rubber mounted? Would it be sloppier steering due to the give in the rubber?

There is no play in the steering, at all.ZRX's and others, are like this as well. i just thought it would dampen vibes to the bars and mirrors.my mirrors still buzz so i dont know that it realy helped. most guys just bolt then straight on, no dampers.

Hey everyone. I started to take the parts bike apart and everything went great until I hit the swingarm nut. Now one side came off as usual, and then the attached picture shows the other side. How do I get the swingarm bolt off on this?

It looks like the outer collar (with the 4 notches) is probably male and threads into the frame. Have you tried loosening that outer collar yet? I'm just going off the picture though, I have never taken one like that apart. Hopefully someone with direct experinece can comment...?

I just was able to get the 4 hole collar off, and now i just have the threads showing on there. I took off the nut on the opposite side too, so there is just threads on each side with no bolts. I tried hammering with a rubber mallet from both sides and it will not budge. Is there something else that is in the way that needs to be undone first? It's not budging an inch, there has to be something else holding the swingarm in there still. Any ideas??

Maybe this diagram will help you out. It looks like once both nuts are off on either side, the swingarm pivot si just a straight shaft with threads on either end...

Oh I agree I saw that diagram too. I mean in theory, I just had to get one side off and the shaft would come out but this thing is STUCK in there. Not sure what the heck is holding it up!

does the larger threaded end screw into the frame? does the large end apear to have any way to insert a tool?

I'm not sure if it threads in, but there is another MASSIVE allen pattern that can be inserted into the end where i took the picture. I got the outer ring off, but the shaft with the allen and threads is still there. I'm not sure if you can see in the picture, but on the inside, it has the provisions for an allen head, but it is rediculously huge. Do you think this is threaded?
