Cool thanks for the info. I definitely am planning on putting gussets on the front of the arm, probably .250 thick angle gussets. I may look into doing something like what you did.

Getting things done. Reassembled for some clearance checking. Student has been welding and cleaning up my frame. I am getting excited to see the finished product. I really like the look of the 18" spoke wheels. I bought an 04 R6 front right caliper to use on the back. Looks like it will work out well. Also build some gussets for swingarm pics will come after welded up.

That is looking nice. I really like that spoke wheel. Did you happen to compare weight between that and stock?

I am so jealous of the room and setup you have. I have part of a garage and get to move a car and another bike if I need any sort of room.

It looks like you cut off that ugly triangle nub on the frame where the brake lever and pipes mount in. Other than welding up a tab for the brake how was that? It cleans up that whole area so much.

What we did was just cut it with an air saw into a semi-round shape leaving the original brake mount and just welded up the open area to make it look like a solid piece. i plan to build a mount from the bottom of the frame to help support the weight of the exhaust.

Have not weighed anything yet but have been keeping all removed metal to do so later.

That looks great. I was looking at it and wondering if I could do something similar.

I have this storage box of parts that may end up going to 2 and everything that is getting swapped is getting weighed before and after. As of right now, I've dropped over 35 lbs. I really should just make a spreadsheet so I can get some of this stuff out of my garage.

Well it has been a while since I have posted any updates. We are almost done with the frame and now on to everything that attaches to the frame. This is a factory seat pan that I cut about 4-5 inches out of the middle. It will end up with about 1.5 inches of padding and the raised section in the rear.

Have gotten a few more things done. First pic is of the electrical tray we built. Built it out of stainless steel. It will house the fuses, starter solenoid, and other essentials. The second pic shows it from the side how it barely sticks down below the seat.

The following pics are of the potential tail light. I like how it tucks up into the seat. Just need to build mounts for it and it should be good to go.

Up next is the battery tray. I think this will turn out pretty cool.
