why yes i do..i am the picture town jester,,,click the picture to see how they blend in...they also are really good blinkers at night and were plenty bright...i unhook em for my own reasons and just leave em on the bike to avoid asking for an obvious violation..but when hooked up they were near stealth off and bright when on...the front is the same low profile and can be seen good enough when the pic is clicked to enlarge...peace

I made some headway on the body. Nice, cool and NOT humid in the basement.

I saved the original stripes for now by masking them off. Got the blue laid down, came out pretty good. That DupliColor orange peels like a MF, so I wet sanded it with 2000. Everything went soooo smooth until I took the masking off (too early) for the black and messed up about 3". I'll wet sand the area and redo that tomorrow.

Not too bad. I should have that 2 part clear coat arriving Tuesday so that will really finish it off nicely.

anyone know where to get those little disc things to re-attach the "900" emblems back to the side panels?

As the bike sits right now I have about $575 into it, not including the sandblaster, zinc plater or anything like that. Not too bad. I still need tires, chain, mirrors, seat and whatever else is on my 'tentative' list.

ok, I got a majority of my "boo-boos" repaired on the tank where it should be a good 4'er when finished. I gotta say though, that blue painters tape is a little too sticky for bodywork, IMO. I wonder if there's a less 'sticky' tape? I pulled off some paint a coupla times. Had to go back and feather it, then respray that area, then sand again with 2k. Maybe if I was alittle more patient it wouldn't have damaged, but I'm not patient. Sooo....

ready for clear!

I think you can get them from Ace Hardware. I just use epoxy puddy and squish a ball on the back of the stem.... makes it easier to remove without breaking the posts

I wonder if that's $1.08 each? You can get a pack of 200 from McMaster Carr for $11.30.

Rounding 3rd......

That clear coat I used works great. I did use a whole can and probobly could have used a little more. I wound up with some orange peel so I sanded it down a little with 2k grit, then used Maguires polish. Came out nice for a $30 paint job. If I was more patient I could have done a real nice job. This one is a solid 3-4'er.

Besides painting the header, all I really need to do now is buy some parts. I have the tires and throttle cables on their way then I can run this thing. Still need: chain, shocks, seat, air filters and levers. I'm going to Plasti-dip the levers in clear dip to give them that original rubber coating. I know it's completely unnecessary, I just want to do it.

IMO, the Z's should have come in this color. HA!

Need a new decal here and also the 3 stickers for the tail section.
