I did some damage to the jugs getting them off, there was some kind of sealer on the base gasket... I am sure it will be fun to scrape!

Does anyone know if that damage with cause a problem?

Also what are the hard rubber plugs for? where they for any thing important? One is missing and one is so brittle it will not stay in!

Looks like you are ready for the fun to begin. Nothing like rebuilding in the house, the beer in the fridge is close. Reminds me of rebuilding a small block chevy in my livingroom when I got rid of my first wife, and had a batchlor pad.... Those were the days.... Keep the pics coming too

the plugs are nothing. they stop the wistling noise when crusing. you can remove them with no ill effects.
i'll swap cranks with you when you get back if you want.

someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.

Great, I will just clean up the smashed plug hole, and put all 4 of them back in place with some high temp rtv.

The jugs will need some cosmetic repair as is, I have a friend who I hope will tig that broken fin up for me in exhange for some beer.

Thanks for the offer of the crank. I will be home for Thanks giving weekend, if you want to meet up some time then. I want to use the gpz head so the hyvo chain seems to be the way to go...

Got the cases split... I need an impact to pop the clutch pack off the tranny. Or maybe this is an excuse to buy a 750 turbo clutch "you see sweet heart, it is stuck on, i need a new one!"

I did make a mistake while tapping the starter clutch out.... I did not remove the locating plate that holds it in place on the clutch side. I warped the plate, running the part number on google shows me 2 or 3 retailers who sell it for less than $10. So I am in luck
