Hey. Any luck with getting that bike running? My two cents. I have a 79' LTD. Whoever said $600 bucks is shooting way low. Running and in decent shape that bike ought to bring well over $1000 bucks. I live in Nashville, or I would come take a look at it. Don't let it go too cheap, especially since you need all the $ you can get for it. Good luck. Tom

Clean up the cases, pull the carbs, do all those things necessary to unmothball it...make it run. Shoot for the sky after that...you may realize $2000 to $4000 for it...the 1980 model has the desireable MKII motor...presentation is more that half of the battle. :)

Your bike with a weekend of cleaning and the low miles would clean up very nice. It would be worth the time to clean it up. I bet once you clean out the tank and carbs it starts right up.

Good idea Russ... Bill, you should watch this bike to see if there is any interest...be advised though, that despite the owner claiming 'mint', it is a repaint.

I offered $600 as is........thats because its not running & who knows what can be wrong with it. I once bought a bike and it had a dead cyl. so i'm iffy about non runners. Figure your time, battery, plugs, oil & filter, tires, carb rebuild kits, etc. etc. Your looking at $500 easy plus your time if you know what your doing. Dealers by me get $60+ hr labor. On top of that, its an LTD which arn't in high demand AND on top of that.....the economy is in the crapper with the future looking poor. IF you want top dollar, get it running perfect if you can & clean the crap out of it.

I would think as is, you could easily get $1250. I would love to have it, but money is tight and I'm in Dayton Ohio. DON'T give it away! You have what looks like a nice, low-mileage LTD 1000. The paint looks great (in the pictures) and it looks all factory.

I would say its worth around $2500. I payed $1800 for my 80 LTD 1000 just this summer. The difference between yours and mine is you have 10k+ lower miles and it is all original, not too mention the desirable/rare paint scheme and the manual and original tool kit. Don't let it go cheap, should clean up well. Any documentation on the history of ownership adds value to the bike also, people like to see that kind of stuff.
