Ok i redid my 650 a while ago, but it never turned out as nice as i would have liked. The motor has an supposed 710cc wiesco piston kit, 26mm kz 1000 carbs, a 4 into 1 vance and hines header, but that will be replaced by a 4 into 1 kerker header my girlfriend bought me a few weeks ago. I have been working the bug's out of it for a bit now, and it actually runs sweet. This winter though, i want to pull the motor yet again, replace all the frame hardware, clean the motor and make it all shiny, get rid of the metalic mineral gray paint on the frame and bodywork. I want to powdercoat the frame glossy black, but i might have to settle on painting it depending on cashflow situations when that time comes. I want to paint the bodywork a metallic blue. This is what im doing for sure. I would like to possibly swap the front end out for one off of a 2005 suzuki gsxr 750. As far as the swingarm goes, i might be intrested in doing the gsxr 750 one, if i can keep the dual shocks? If not i will swap to a gs 1100 aluminum arm. Can i fit an 05 gsxr 750 rear wheel in the gs 1100 arm?

If the axel is the same size I seen folks put up to a 180 on the Gs 1100 swingarm. Kano swaped his front end for a busa and had to press out the neck stem and press ih the KZ stem . Kano knows loads about this kind of swap ..

Thank's chance, i will pm him for some more info on what i need to do. The gsxr 750 is my friends bike and it's in mint shape, but the motor is blown, i talked to him today, and he said he would sell me the complete front end withe the wheel, and the swingarm with the whole set up in the rear. Honestly i dont think i want the gsxr swingarm, i like the old school look of the gs 1100 boxed aluminum swingarm with dual shocks. Would it be possible to use gas filled shock's like the one's that come on the ELR's?

MadMac, she's a keeper for sure, she is actually in the garage with me at night helping me work on the bikes....she also gets on me if i let them sit for to long. Ya i couldnt belive my eyes, when the kerker header showed up, i had no clue she bought it for me. She did ask me like 2 week's before what year it was, and if i like kerker exhaust. This thing is super cleand no rust anywere, only the usual blueing.

Damn, sounds like an awesome project, right up my alley! Streetfighter...or cafe? What's up with the old Vance and Hines system? My old old kerker has seen it's day...rusted all to hell. Must...not...buy...marving...exhaust... :side:

Um im not sure whats up with the v and h pipe. It is very clean with minimal rust on the inside of the collector. It has the normal blueing on the head pipes. Ill let ya know in a few weeks when i start tearing into it. Im going for a streetfighter kinda look. I was looking over at americanclassics.com, those marving exhaust are sweet, but so much freekin money.
