I did my intro awhile back. Here is the deal. I bought a '75 Z1B and it was a roller with the motor in the frame minus the carbs in one of three boxes of parts. I went through all the boxes of parts and have most of what I need. Is there anyway to shorten screws and bolts to get the correct length?

Not too sure on your question, but I found that Z1 sells some bolt kits for around $27. (I'm not a shill, just got one of these for my bike).

For the price, it sure beats running down bolts all the time.

or say what bolts your missing if you got a idea and someone hear will maybe have em in a plie a bolts and just send you a few .....or just get a bolt kick like suggested or in a pinch find a nut that spins on a bolt perfect and hit the metric bin at any hardware store(stainless)and use your nut as a test threads.......good luck

it can be done. make sure the the thread shoulder allows the bolt to tighten the parts together before it bottoms.

A chop saw will work followed by using a disc sander wheel to square the end. I like to chamfer(taper) the end so the threads are not sharp. This makes it easier to start the fastener.

A source for american and metric fasteners is www.boltdepot.com and the local ACE Hardware Store(they have a good selection of fasteners).
