I might let you ride it there, but not on the way home!

Also forgot to mention - got a Yoshi pipe for it (at least I hope it's a real Yoshimura!)

Looks great, MK.

We need to meet up sometime at QSL this summer at Valley View if that's close to you.

Yea that would be great. That's probably less than an hour from me. I hear they have a pretty cool bike night there...and good wings too!

Finally got around to sanding / polishing the cylinder head fins. Looks much better, doesn't it? I think it really adds to the look of the motorcycle.

mine were so weird to try and scuff off the black...the edges were so cracker shaped ,where as i thought by the pictures i had always seen of the MKII engines ,that the fins would have been flat on the edges from the showroom.....my edges were thin and unevenly smoothed down so much so that when i began sanding and flat blocking em i had to go and recheck my engine v.i.n and dbl check that i really indeed have an early japan engine 79....for what its worth,,,,i had some great pics to go by ,but, still, the starting point and cut off point at each head fin was hard to get really sano looking...i have since redone em and made em a bit worse...when i redo the engine i may try and get em perfect....

by the intake bosses the fins start and stop at different places and if you sand it where it is factory ground down the black out and shiny fins stagger some..on the header side this is also a uneven layout and i had to sand my own finish taper for the five or so fins.....you have any of these issues....on either side

Oh yea, it was much more difficult than I would have thought. Mine are pretty uneven too but look great unless you're right up close. I had the same issues with starting/stopping point and uneven fins. I'm not sure how they did it at the factory but I tried a bunch of different ways. I also tried going back with touch up paint and a brush...didn't work out so well. I need a smaller brush for sure.

It was your pictures that finally got me motivated to do it! I wanted to do it since I got it put back together but never got around to it. I think it really breaks up all black on the engine. Just the way mother kaw intended it! :)

OK, got the front end back together with the stock MKII rotors for now. Got some outdoor pictures and the fins really pop.

i used to draw the Zepp stuff a bunch in my teens and have drawn that one a dozen times or so.....page with the suspenders and the double neck was my best one i could dooodle out....

pics look nice.......how you comin on the extra body set for a luminous blue/red???....i'm gonna try and order an extra MKII frame next week.....use the body sets on that one for a modded....hmmm...cbr954 rims and hybrid USD....maybe some stripped streetfighter with a luminous red .......

broke my tarrozi linkage today and had to call home and walk amy along on the phone to bring me a shifter and 10mm wrench and bolt.......

had polished some stuff... forward progress,,,,and was gonna ride down to BIG SUR and shoot pics...oh well...got it home...now i gotta chase down parts links for tarrozzi...i am building a set from stock pegs one the next frame fighter build...flipped up and swapped around stock pegs and some welding and the home made rearsets work better are hard to tell from stock when looking at the bike......screw this....the tarrozi look cool...and work like shit...now qa new set is broken in about 3000 miles......:(
