I have a complete Moto Martin kit as it was originally manufactured as Kit #1 which included wheels, brakes, fairing, etc. I have had it for 20 plus years setting in the garage waiting for me to make time to do something with it. I will be starting on it this fall. I now have an 86 police bike engine to go in it. What I do not have is anything on where the electrical stuff was supposed to be mounted as well as the battery. There is an interesting plate located under the seat and would like to know what it was intended for. Would anyone out there happen to have anything on the assembly of the kit? This may just be one of those put things where you want but thought it would be nice to keep things as intended.

:woohoo: a brand new kit - please post some pics. I love the Martins. Friend of mine raced a Martin/MKII back in the days. Love to get my hands on a frame. Looking forward to your build.

Actually not a brand new kit, it has been setting in my garage and another persons garage for 30 years but all the original stuff from the kit is there. The tires do not even show any wear but of course will be replaced. From what I was told it was put together for an article then stripped and has set ever since. Picked it up in a garage sale along with a rolling chassis for a Bimota KB1 cheap from what I am hearing. I worked with the guy for a number of years and his wife wanted the garage cleaned out. We had discussed the sale for a number of years but the price was too high and when I heard that the wife wanted the garage cleaned out it was time to make a deal. The frame has some rust showing through so once the engine arrives in a month or so I will fit things up then strip the frame and have it nickel plated and go from there. The engine setting in the garage is a B4 model and this bike uses a J model engine. May just use that engine in the KB1 after this project.

I will need a wiring harness and have found that one can get a new harness for the earlier models and would like to know if one of those would work with the J model engine if anyone out there has experience with the various wiring harnesses. Lots of work to do on this project but looking forward to finally getting it going.

Tried to attach a couple of pictures but I had the wrong file type and the two I have attached might be too large.

Here's a shot of a Martin racer at the Mosport VRRA Vintage Festival last year.

Let me correct myself since I can't remove my post... it's a Harris framed racer.
