Nice work. What is that tail section from ?

It was made by Airtech Streamlining, but it doesn't show up on their website. It looks pretty similar to the tail from an old homologation special GSX-R.

That tail is off a late 80's TZ250, U-model I think. Cool project!

THANKS!! It threw me because the front part of the seat has been cut off and reshaped. The same seller had one of the pointy anti-draft TZ250 seats, so I bet you're right.

The fact that the front of the seat was cut off and there were no holes in the normal mounting points leads me to believe that it was mounted to something else.

The anti-draft seat was in better shape, but I'm glad I got the square tail seat instead, because I can mount my battery in there, and it wouldn't have fit in the other one.

Thanks again, DutchZ! Now I have that question answered...

I made a hugger rear fender out of my original front fender. When I changed to the GPz fork, I had to use a different front fender because the geometry had changed, so I had an extra fender. My original front fender is now my rear fender, my original outer rear fender is now my inner rear fender, and my original inner rear fender is going on eBay.

 I wish I knew! Sometimes it seems like this project will never get done, but I just keep plodding along. I can't / won't rush it. You can't push a river, you just have to let it flow. I go out to the shop and try to do something every day, sometimes I just sit there and let the ideas form. What I love the most is how I'm able to repurpose components like the fenders and the battery box.

Well, I had to check to make sure everything in the pan was okay, so I pulled the pan and found a bunch of sludge... and this:
